About Agro-Eco Wisdom

This blog, mainly through visuals in the form of posters, describes the wonders of the Greatest Show on Earth- Diversity and the stunning achievements of the farmers whose meticulous observations, perseverance and hard work across generations have passed on to us an invaluable treasure of Seeds.

It also describes how insatiable greed for wealth, power and control have time and again attempted to restrict and destroy the very foundations of our only HOME…..The EARTH…..

Only through responsible sharing and restoring the commons can we redeem ourselves.

“All that is not given is lost…………”— Rabindranath Tagore

The blog is divided into 3 sections- Ecology, Traditional Seeds & Farming and Traditional Knowledge, which are further divided into subsections and categories for ease in viewing.

The first few slides were selected from some of my presentations and shared in Google groups (e.g- Alliance for Sustainable & Holistic Agriculture-ASHA and Bharat Beej Swaraj Manch-BBSM) in November 2018; encouraged by the group members, I started developing more slides on different issues as an what I came across during my travels and work as well as from different books and articles that I had come across. The idea was to compile scattered bits of knowledge in one place and present it as a summary of series with relevant pictures not just for ready information but igniting minds to seek and learn more about it.

I am indebted to all the farmers, artisans, individuals and authors of published materials from whom I continue to learn and who have contributed in developing this blog.

I was encouraged to start a blog a number of times by several group members, but I was shy to put it up and had scant idea on setting up a blog.

Thanks to Kavitha & the efforts of Riya that this blog finally became possible.
